Whether you’re new to our school or a longtime Blue Grass Elementary family, we want to provide the resources you need to achieve success.
This is a central hub for students and families to easily access information for navigating the school and school day, including enrollment, student handbooks, information about schedules, extra curricular activities, and more!
Enrollment
Blue Grass Elementary School serves students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Enrollment hours for students who are new to the district are from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on full school days and during specified office hours in the summer months. Enrollment must be completed in person by a parent or legal guardian.
Daily Schedule
At Blue Grass, the school day begins at 7:45 a.m. Students may arrive as early as 7:10am and go to the cafeteria for breakfast or wait outside their classrooms.
Dismissal is at 2:45pm on regular days and 11:15 on half days.
Students must attend for at least 3.5 hours to be counted present for the day.
After School Care
The YMCA is the only on-site after-care provider for Blue Grass, but several other organizations offer pickup and transportation to off-site programs.
Extracurricular Activities
Blue Grass offers several after school and extracurricular opportunities. Through these clubs and others, students have the opportunity to expand their classroom learning, get to know peers with similar interests, and explore new skills.
Student Supports
The entire staff of Blue Grass Elementary School is committed to establishing an atmosphere in which children will feel safe, secure, and happy so they maximize their opportunities to learn and achieve. The school has trained counselors and social workers on staff.
Library / Media Center
Our library is a hub for student learning, reading, and discovery. In addition to the school library, teachers may maintain individual collections of age-appropriate books in their classrooms to support literacy and foster a love of reading.
Support Organization
The Blue Grass PTO is a collaborative group of parents, teachers, and school staff who work together to support the school community.
